May 2014: The grand cross, a stabilizing influence, and the cardinal signs

As we enter the second month of spring the three major planets in the grand cross begin to separate. Many have asked me if the energy of the grand cross will end now. In a nutshell, no. The grand cross has reached a peak, but it is not over, and this energy will continue throughout May-June and into the summer and that's the truth! As the major planets continue to separate, its influence will lessen, but during May Mars will set the energy off most, if not all of the month.

During May we will have the positive and stabilizing influence of Jupiter trine Saturn but the wild, disruptive, changeable, evolutionary energy is with us for now, and events that began during this period will continue to unfold for months to come.

There is so much news it is hard to keep up with. Many situations have yet to be resolved and the world is in a massive state of shifting, politically, geo-politically, socially and economically and this shift will not end until Uranus and Pluto separate and that will not occur until 2016. The next square between Uranus and Pluto will occur late November of this year when things will heat up once again.

So, for now it appears we have avoided an enemy attack on American soil as could have been the case, or involvement in war and I say this hesitantly, as the energy is still strong, and the Ukraine continues to erupt in violence. Never underestimate however, the healing and protective power of Jupiter, which has been exact on the US Sun during this period.

While there have been many significant events that occurred during April, as far as I am concerned the most significant may be the news that 65 Al Qaeda militants were killed in Yemen with drone attacks, and the fact that attacks on US and British targets were avoided. Why there has not been more news on this is amazing. The other significant event is of course the situation with Russia and the Ukraine, which is yet unresolved.

Change on major levels is occurring among the Cardinal signs and will continue throughout the year: Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra. Those with Sun signs between 11-16 degrees, or with personal planets at these degrees will experience the most change this year. The changes will be occurring in the areas of relationships, home, work and on a very personal level.

Uranus and Pluto will square, conjunct or oppose the cardinal Sun signs, or any cardinal planet at this degree. Pluto transforms forever, and brings situations to our lives that seem beyond our ability to control.

Uranus brings shocking, unexpected events, changes, separations and new ideas, that may not flow in a harmonious manner. For those wishing to break free of an oppressive situation, Uranus will give the courage, impetus, opportunity or event that can bring this about.

Uranus and Pluto will come together in another square that started in 2010 at 12 degrees by the end of November, again altering the world and the landscape, collectively, globally, personally and individually, as part of a cycle of change that will take us into early 2016 before it is over. Like the mid-1930's and the 1960's the world and our lives will be altered in big ways.

The last Uranus cycle to affect cardinal signs was in Capricorn late 1988-1996.

The last Pluto cycle that affected cardinal signs was in Libra late 1971-84. All outer planet cycles are lengthy, but if you are a cardinal sign and old enough to remember these dates, at some point you would have experienced some major life changes depending on your birth date or what was being aspected in your personal chart.

Mars will finally go stationary direct this month on May 19, at 9:31 p.m., EST, and this is a powerful planetary event, especially if you have a cardinal sign at 9 degrees, or within a few degrees on either side. Mars rules men, sex, war, weapons and discord or anger to name a few.

Mars turns retrograde every several years, and this time it has been in Libra-the sign ruling relationships, partnerships and marriage. This is always a frustrating period full of delays and obstacles.

The stationary direct period is the most important, next to the stationary retrograde period. How it works for you depends on what it is aspecting in your chart-good or bad.

During this period Mars energy changes and we will start moving forward again with many situations that were delayed. Events that were postponed when Mars retrograded on or around December 21, 2013 will begin to move forward again, or prove to be a dead issue or unworthy of your attention. It will now be easier to start new ventures and projects.

Mars rules men, and relationships will begin to be seen and understood for what they are one way or another. If you began a relationship on retrograde Mars the next number of weeks will determine if it will withstand the test of time or fall away.

As Mars goes direct events that began before Mars went direct can change again. We will be in a mood to move forward in many respects, but Mars will remain in its shadow period, and the energy will continue to change, until it reaches 27 degrees on July 3. Mars will remain in the sign of marriage and partnerships until July 25, when it enters Scorpio.

The first three weeks Mars goes direct it once again creates a grand cross with Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto as it did in April. This will again bring events and changes in the world and in our lives of large magnitude. If you had important events occur in April further changes may happen. Once again this will set off the grand cross between Uranus-Pluto and Jupiter bringing big changes and events. As Venus enters Aries, it too will set off the grand cross this month.

Mars will be square Pluto the entire month of May. Mars-Pluto is a volatile transit and a special effort will be required for relationships to run smoothly. Mars will continue to set off the grand cross and the three outer planets until June 28.

Saturn will trine Jupiter this month and this will be a welcome relief bringing more stability and a degree of luck. It becomes exact May 24-30, but this energy will become apparent from approximately the 8th on, and should bring some benefit throughout the entire month.

Saturn trine Jupiter is a positive influence and will be felt to a large degree by water signs, especially Cancer and Pisces with Suns around 13-18 degrees. If you have personal planets in Cancer or Pisces at these degrees it may bring some positive and welcome change, and positivity. The same goes for earth signs at these degrees.

Saturn is about stability and Jupiter expands whatever it touches and this combination is good for finances, starting new businesses, and growth. This transit occurred July 2013, and briefly the second week of December.

As the United States has a 13 degree Cancer sun this aspect will help stabilize the chart of the United States. There may be some better financial news during this period.

Other significant transits during May include:

May 2, Mercury opposes Saturn. This is depressing, negative energy indicative of bad news, tiredness and bad moods. As the signs are fixed decisions reached may be final. Good for detective work, and thinking through a situation.

May 2, Venus enters Aries, changing love energy and becoming more bold. Great for fire signs.

May 7, Mercury enters Gemini the sign of its ruler ship. Thinking, speech could take on a more open and intellectual bent.

May 10, the Sun opposes Saturn. This is a negative and harsh influence, and indicative of responsibility, restrictions, and some situations may end.

May 11, Venus opposes Mars, indicative of trouble between the sexes, or you could meet someone new. If so, it could only be physical. Mercury squares Neptune and this creates confusion, deception, or misunderstandings. We could see weather related conditions again.

May 14, at 3:16 p.m., EST the full moon occurs at 23 degrees of Scorpio. This is the most intense of signs and conjuncts Saturn the planet of responsibilities and restrictions. Venus squares Pluto bringing an obsessive theme, especially in relationships and there may be issues relating to control, sex or money.

May 15, Venus opposes Uranus and some relationships may end. You may feel as though you want freedom or to do something totally different from the norm. This transit is often seen to coincide with big financial- market swings.

May 18, Venus squares Jupiter and this is a transit of over-indulgence. It's Sunday-enjoy the day!

May 20, the Sun enters Gemini, the mutable sign of spring where things begin to change into summer!

May 28, a New moon occurs at 7 degrees of Gemini at 2:40 p.m., EST. New moons are about new starts and new beginnings. The Sun squares Neptune bringing wet weather and confusion to the day, and Venus enters Taurus changing the love energy once again.

May 29, Mercury enters Cancer, the most emotional of signs. Mercury will retrograde in this sign next month.

Rock Our World: the Grand Cross of 2014 and its effects - Part 1 and 2

The most important transit of the year, and perhaps the most important planetary alignment of the decade becomes exact April 2014. The grand cross peaks the third week of April 2014. This aspect does not have to be exact for events to occur.

A grand cross is a rare configuration shaped like an X, that involves two 180 degree oppositions, and four 90 degree squares that plays off the energy of all the planets involved.

In this case we are dealing with Uranus in Aries (revolutions, sudden, unexpected, explosive and shocking events and change), Pluto in Capricorn (regeneration, death and change beyond personal control, bullies, unabated power of all kinds, secret agendas, nuclear energy and power, earth related weather or manmade events, Jupiter in Cancer (home, family, money, expansion, the homeland taking on greater importance), Mars in Libra (action, war, strife, military) and even Mercury in Aries (communication, young people, transport).

The grand cross affects the charts of many people-about half or more of those I speak with, the United States chart, and the charts of many other countries as well. So, we know this aspect will bring societal change in many respects to large masses of people. Changes will occur on two levels: change in the world or the collective, and change personally to individuals. This first article deals with change occurring in the collective, and the Part 11 will deal with changes we will experience as individuals, which may or may not involve the collective experience.

As all of the planets involved are in Cardinal signs and events will be significant and immediate. Aries deals with the first house and the personal will of ourselves and others. Libra rules others than ourselves, partners of all types, and rules the 7th house of open enemies and courts. Capricorn rules the 10th house of business and it is tied into the earth itself, and here we have another view of the types of situations this transit will bring.

I do not believe this aspect will bring one event, but rather many events escalating around the same time, although there may be one that stands out among others. As the buildup of this powerful transit continues over the next 6 weeks and beyond, we are currently seeing related events occurring now and will continue to do so until the aspect peaks in April, and after. The upheaval and subsequent removal of government in the Ukraine and ongoing conflict with Russia is one such example of what this most powerful aspect will bring to the collective.

Uranus-Jupiter relates to extreme conditions and situations involving weather or earth related changes, money can be made or lost overnight, and countries and entities can break apart suddenly as we are currently seeing in Kiev.
Uranus rules and involves aircraft, technology, revolts and unexpected events that can turn explosive.

Uranus-Pluto deals with agendas that are extreme in nature (such as the bill that was vetoed in Arizona allowing gays and others to be banned/turned away from private businesses) financial cycles, and the rise of specific agendas, propaganda, violence and terrorism in the world.

The effects of the square between Pluto and Uranus have been ongoing since Uranus entered Aries in 2010, but this time we add to the mix Jupiter, Mars and Mercury. The eclipses of April will set off the events of the grand cross.

For the first time in the history of the United States the grand cross falls on the Sun of the United States with Pluto opposing the US Sun.

In January 1934, we experienced a grand square between Uranus, Pluto and Jupiter in Aries, Cancer and Aries at 23 degrees of these cardinal signs. It did not however aspect the US natal Sun. It is important to look at the events that occurred during that time, and it was an important year that planted the seeds of what would come over the next decade, and the world was never the same again.

That year Hitler came into power becoming Furher over Germany and police forces in Germany were consolidated under the jurisdiction of Heinrich Himmler the avowed Nazi who condemned over 1 million to death in the death camps of Auschwitz. We could see the rise of another such type of individual in the world during this period.

The Dust Bowl removed great quantities of topsoil across the American West, damaging farms, crop production, and livestock ruining 300 million acres of farmland and we are at risk now of extreme weather conditions that we have already experienced in terms of a cold winter, and more extremes will follow.

The New Deal in 1934 led to the establishment of the Securities Exchange commission by Franklin Roosevelt which began a series of banking reforms, as well as the Federal Communications regulating broadcasting, and Bonnie and Clyde were killed. These are only a few instances of this pivotal time in history before WW11, and now is equally pivotal.

In early 1934 Roosevelt devalued the dollar. Numerous individuals and companies were prosecuted related to President Roosevelt's Executive Order 6102. Prosecutions occurred under subsequent Executive Orders 6111, 6260, 6261 and the Gold Reserve Act of 1934 that prohibited the hoarding of gold.

China's central bank has engineered the recent decline in the country's currency as part of its efforts to prepare for wider trading, according to the Wall Street Journal. With fewer speculators trading the yuan, China intends to challenge the dollars role, and sees freeing its currency as a step to getting there, according to the story.

Why should you be interested in China? Because this is indicative of the types of change we will see worldwide and no man, woman or country is an island, and the Grand Cross affects the world and everyone in it, one way or another if you live among civilization.

Political cartoons of 1934 reflect the same issues we face today: government overspending, market manipulation, questions over the constitution and government regulations, blaming capitalists for financial woes and spending. Astrological cycles are cyclical and eventually repeat themselves. The question is: how much have we learned since the 1930's and how far will we go to prevent history from repeating itself on more than one level.

The grand square of 1934 fell at 23 degrees of Aries, Cancer and Libra. In April 2014 the grand cross falls at 13 degrees of Capricorn opposing on the Sun in the US natal chart. Pluto is the ultimate planet of transformation and regeneration.

Pluto opposed Venus (US natal chart) in 2008-10 bringing on the 'Great Recession," or the financial meltdown of the banks, and it opposed Jupiter 2010-2012 when we continued to see high unemployment, anger and the splintering of the Republican party. Pluto's opposition to the US Sun becomes exact April 12-June 5, December 28, 2014-January 25, 2015, July 25, 2015-September 14, October 6, 2015-January 30, 2016. Uranus will also be square the US Sun within a few degrees December 2014 as well, creating another grand square between three planets again.

Astrologer Celeste Teal wrote, " This Grand Cross stimulates the Solar Eclipse of January 2011 that fell at 13 Capricorn. Eclipses in Cardinal signs are known for bringing a focus to national affairs and to the business world, when the business world is often depressed or disturbed."

April 2014 will represent the only time the grand cross is formed with Jupiter and Mars. In 2015 during the final Pluto opposition to the US Sun, Saturn will be square Neptune. This transit is related to political reforms and according to the famed astrologer Barbault, and this is a cycle governing the development of socialism/communism.

In mundane astrology the Sun represents the President and government. It represents the way a nation expresses itself, and the way foreigners view the nation. In a way it is the 'soul' of a country. This will be an important time for government, which will be under pressure, and for the President who may face additional risks and opposition from his 'partners,' which includes Congress and others.

Pluto represents that which is subversive, corrupt, hidden and secretive in society. Pluto rules secret police, organized crime, secret agencies and societies, and what Jung called 'psychotic outbreaks of the collective unconscious.' It also rules nuclear weapons and energy, bullies and unmitigated power, including power of governments unrestrained, nuclear weapons and energy, and major transformation.

As the transit takes the form of an opposition the crisis will come from an outside force, or forces. Looking at past countries/civilizations Pluto-Sun oppositions either bring transformation as a result of deep internal and external change over time with opposition and purging of that which is destructive, or a complete collapse compared to what was known before. Sometimes Pluto goes through a phase of destruction and tearing down, then later rebuilding in a stronger way. Either way, the United States and its government will go through a transformative process the likes of which we have not seen before. Sometimes this transit takes the form of what some call creative destruction.

Two charts most commonly used for the US are the Sibley Chart (Sagittarius rising) and the Gemini rising chart. Looking at the Sibley Chart the US Sun falls in the seventh house ruling foreign relations, and is typically considered the house of 'open enemies,' showing us a conflict brewing with an enemy that is known. As the grand cross also affects the chart of Russia, this may well represent one such entity. Using the Gemini chart the Sun falls in the second house which rules incomes and money.

Either way this transit shows the potential of financial upheaval, potential banking reforms-situations, economic issues and challenging conditions that will be worldwide in nature.

"Under the current transit, the structures of power (Pluto in Capricorn) are challenged by the fresh vision, the new beginnings of Uranus in Aries. Politically, it's not usually very pleasant. Sometimes, where there is great potential within the current forms, Uranus-Pluto can represent not a dissolution but an empowerment, dramatic growth, as we have seen with China."- Astrologer Barry Goddard

Looking at the lunar eclipse chart for April 15, 3:42 a.m., Washington, DC, the moon falls in the eighth house and there is a focus on the 8th/2nd house axis which rules death and mortality, international banking and finance, and earned income with a focus on unexpected situations through the end of the month. We will see arguments, debates and police or military action in the world and explosive events. Unexpected news will be the norm, and there could be problems with transport, young people and communication-technology.

This eclipse falls on the karmic nodal axis, showing the potential for reaping what has been sown in terms of the past as a nation.

The ascendant is 18 degrees Aquarius and the ascendant ruler Saturn (and Uranus) makes no aspects, but lies in the ninth house showing a staunch belief system and philosophical views.

Uranus lies in the second house of income, banking, bonds, currency, conjunct Mercury showing the rapid flow of information, or a propaganda campaign, potential issues with transport, communications and technology, a focus on young people. It opposes Mars in the eighth house of death, taxes, transformation, bringing arguments, debates, explosions, and accidents. The eighth house also rules mortgages, and financial relations with other countries and this is a major theme.

Uranus - Jupiter brings unforeseen events, impracticality, potential issues regarding aircraft, idealism, sudden gains and losses and possible news relating to technology. Financial markets may fluctuate.

The grand cross affects the 11th house, ruling Congress and institutions, foreign affairs, the nations long term hopes, the 2nd house ruling income and wealth, and the 5th house of children and young people, and the eighth house of taxes, death, and transformation.

Pluto is especially powerful at this time as it is stationary having turned retrograde only 7 hours, 54 minutes prior to the eclipse. Agendas will become apparent.

Neptune and Venus in the first house bring to the forefront the question of lies, fraud and deception along with a lack of clarity and truthfulness as events are unfolding. Neptune rules water, oceans, rivers, and oil and gas and we could see situations arise that relate to water during this period.

The Jupiter-Pluto opposition lies across The United States 1st-7th house axis (Sibley chart) of self and others, or open enemies, and shows a monumental struggle between us and them, or other entities in the world as well as challenges in political, financial, social and military realms.

Issues that will likely come to the forefront include: New regulatory cycles relating to banking-finance, issues and volatility among financial markets, extreme weather-earth related changes and situations, the rise of violence and terrorism, Governments overstepping their authority and crackdowns on populations of people by governments, terrorist and military attacks, news relating to nuclear weapons, political splits, hidden agendas unveiled, attacks and accidents, news related to Edward Snowden and government spying on citizens, attacks by and on terrorists, events relating to crime and organized crime, concern over taxes/wealth, accidents and attacks, political and sociological upheaval, concerns for and about the President.

The April 29 solar eclipse falls in Taurus, the sign ruling income, and the earth itself. I will write more about it in an upcoming issue.

While the grand cross of April will change the world, it will change the lives of all of those whose personal charts it affects, and that will be the subject of my next blog.

The Grand Cross of 2014 and its effects on you personally-Part 2

April's Grand Cross involving Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto and Mars will change the world in many ways as a collective. It also aspects the charts of at least half of the population individually or more, so during this period we will see many personal changes in our own lives as well as the world.

The grand cross is complicated and complex to the world and to us personally. We are able to gauge to some extent how it will affect us, but Uranus may well bring an element of surprise as that is the nature of the planet.

To understand how this grand cross will affect you personally, you need some very basic knowledge of your own personal natal chart, and of the grand cross.

Most people know their own Sun sign. Those affected will be cardinal signs, or have cardinal planets in their chart. The cardinal planets are Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn and the degrees that will be affected by the transit are roughly 10-16 degrees. So, if you know your Sun sign and the degree, using this information you will know whether or not you will be affected by the grand cross.

If you know your ascendant and degree this is even better. Again, the cardinal signs are what we need to pay attention to. So, you will be affected if your ascendant is Libra, Aries, Cancer or Capricorn between 10-16 degrees.
If you don't have any information about your chart, my suggestion is to go to one of the free internet sites and get a copy of your chart that will spell out what your planets are and the degrees. If you don't understand astrology you will not be able to read the chart and it will seem like Greek, so information about your planets needs to be spelled out. For example: Your Sun is 13 degrees of Libra, your moon is 13 degrees of Capricorn, etc.

All individuals will be affected by the grand cross to an extent, and it will aspect everyone's chart. Those most affected will have personal planets that are aspected.

If it does not affect your personal chart you will likely in some way be affected by the actions or situations of others, whose chart is affected and we will all be affected by events in the world.

The following will allow you to determine if your chart is in fact being aspected by the grand cross:

If your chart is aspected, do not panic but rather know that changes are inherent in your future and all changes are not bad. My own personal experience of being aspected by some of these major configurations, many of which have occurred since 2008, aspecting my chart - is a sense of relief and a new direction or a solution/conclusion to a problem as the planets come together in an exact configuration. But, each individual is different and it all depends on what else may be in your chart at the time.

The next question is which houses are being affected or which planets are involved. If you know your Sun sign (or your ascendant) start with the first house simply count 1-12 houses from there. Let's say you are a 13 degree Cancer, for example. The same goes if you are a Capricorn, Libra, or Aries. The GC will aspect the angular houses of all cardinal signs. In other words the grand cross will hit your first house (Cancer), fourth house (Libra), seventh house (Capricorn) and Aries (tenth house) IF you are a Cardinal sign or have a Cardinal ascendant.

Here is a brief description of what each house represents:

First- You on a personal level and this often deals with relationships as it opposes the seventh, or the first/seventh house axis.
Second-Finance, earned income and it opposes the eighth house of taxes, debt, partners money or corporate money and sex, and the eighth house deals with death and change. This constitutes the second/eighth house axis.(for a death to occur other transits must be present)
Third-Communication, thinking and the mind, immediate family members, neighbors and co-workers. It opposes the ninth house ruling education, travel, medical and legal matters and this constitutes the third/ninth house axis.
Fourth-The fourth house rules the basic foundation of life, security, the home and parents (Mother). It opposes the tenth house of business and priorities, and this becomes the fourth/tenth house axis.
Fifth-The fifth house rules friends, children, love affairs and creativity. It opposes the eleventh house of groups and organizations, hopes and wishes, constituting the fifth/eleventh house axis.
Sixth-The sixth house rules work, health, service to others or employees and small animals. It opposes the twelfth house which is considered the house of the subconscious, things secret and hidden, and the house of seclusion or isolation, as well as large institutions-jails hospitals, etc. This constitutes the sixth/twelfth house axis.
Seventh-The seventh house rules marriage, committed relationships and partnerships, courts and 'open enemies.' It opposes the first house of self, becoming the seventh/first house axis.
Eighth-The eighth house rules major change and transformation, even death. It is generally associated with taxes and debt, partners and corporate money, and sex. It opposes the second house of income, constituting the second/eighth house axis.
Ninth-The ninth house generally deals with education, travel, philosophy and religion and the way one views the world. It is considered the house of legal and medical matters, and opposes the third house constituting the ninth/third house axis.
Tenth-The tenth house rules business, priorities, reputation, the Father and it opposes the fourth house becoming the fourth/tenth house axis.
Eleventh-The eleventh house rules our hopes and wishes, groups and organizations and friends. It opposes the fifth becoming the eleventh/fifth house axis.
Twelfth-The twelfth house rules the subconscious mind and what's in it, things and situations that are secret and hidden and institutions such as hospitals and places of seclusion. It opposes the sixth house of health and work, comprising the twelfth/sixth house axis.

If the grand cross is aspecting one house, it is aspecting the axis of two houses. For example, if you are a Cancer and the GC aspects your first house it also aspects your seventh.

If you are a cardinal sign, and angular houses are being affected changes are going to occur rapidly and they will be major in nature. You may have some idea of what they changes are now, or a clue as to what is going to be going on. The GC will create tension and you may feel pulled in many different directions at once which will result in changes in some of the most significant areas.

If the grand cross falls in the Succedent houses the focus may be on money or material possessions. The Succedent houses are the second, fifth, eighth and eleventh and encompasses the second-eighth house axis. Alternatively it could also deal with love affairs and sex. Uranus, Pluto, Jupiter and Mars will fall in the above mentioned houses.
To be heavily affected you must have the above planets aspecting something in these houses.

For example, you could be a Gemini ascendant, and Uranus lies in your second house at 12 degrees of Aries. The GC would fall on Uranus in your second house and it would set off the fifth house ruling speculative
investments, and friends, the eight house of other people's money, taxes and investments and the eleventh house of groups and organizations. I would read this as an unexpected money issue connected with taxes, investments or corporate money.

Now, let's say you are a Gemini ascendant and Venus falls in Libra at 14 degrees in your fifth house and this is the only natal planet in your chart that is aspected. This changes the focus somewhat. Venus rules love and money, and there may still be a money issue, but it could also relate to love in a big way. You may experience some type of major change or ending in your love life that could in some way involve money, sex, or even children! So you can see how complex the grand cross is and how important it is to be aware of what is coming up in your chart.

Lastly, let's look at the GC falling in the Cadent houses, which are three, six, nine and twelve. These are the houses that rule work, health, and the house ruling the unknown.

The third and ninth house axis are affected as well as the sixth and twelfth.

You may be dealing with a health or work issue, or situations that involve immediate family members or your basic belief systems. With the twelfth house being aspected you may feel a sense of uncertainty, or a lack of clarity about what is going on during this time. Situations may involve seclusion, or places of seclusion, or you could be involved in behind the scenes situations.

Sometimes planets are intercepted, meaning the planet is not in the house mentioned above. All signs are 30 degrees but houses can have different sizes.

Finally, let's take a brief look at what the planets mean in your chart in the event they are aspected by the grand cross:

The Sun represents you, your core being. So, if the Sun is being aspected, and again it can only be in a Cardinal sign, this means events will relate to your personally. In a woman's chart the Sun can relate to the men in her life, especially the Father, or husband boyfriend.

The Moon represents your emotional life, home, and the women in your life, especially in a man's chart, where it relates to Mother, wife or girlfriend. If the GC aspects your moon look for events and upheaval to unfold in your emotional life, home, or relating to the women in your life.

Mercury rules your mind and thinking, along with younger people, siblings, immediate family members and transportation. If the GC aspects your Mercury look for mental upheaval in some respect, issues with family members or young people and long term changes in your thinking to occur. You will experience an intense time mentally.

Venus rules love and money and if the GC is aspecting this planet look for changes to occur here. Venus also rules values, and some will have to come to terms with what their values actually are.

Mars rules men in a woman's chart and our action in all charts. If you are a woman look for changes with men, but it depends on which house Mars falls in. If Pluto is aspecting Mars this can represent a major power struggle and a dangerous period in an individual's life where they should always be aware of their surroundings.

Uranus-Mars-Uranus transits are indicative rash action, accidents, convoluted actions, and sudden and unexpected events.

Jupiter rules luck, money, young people, especially men, ideas and expansion. Again, depending on the house placement look for changes in philosophies, education, money, foreigners and travel, and basic values.

Saturn rules our structure that is necessary in life, our past, and things of our past. If the GC aspects Saturn in your chart, look for changes and disruptions in these areas that constitute security.

Uranus's rulership in your chart depends on its house location. Typically it represents freedom, and is known as the great awakener which is generally what happens when it is aspected. It shows us where we like to see continual change. If natal Uranus is in Libra at a critical degree the GC may bring changes in relationships.

Neptune's significance in your chart depends on its house placement but it typically relates to the subconscious energies that affect the mind. It rules psychic energy and a connection with everything around us as well as our compassion and personal beliefs, and this is where we can often fool ourselves. If the GC aspects Neptune look to the house placement, but this may signify lack of clarity, or sudden clarity about a situation, secrets, hidden factors, depression and revelations, or changes in psyche.

Pluto's significance in your chart depends on its house placement, but if the GC aspects your Pluto look for situations that tend to be obsessive, major in terms of significance, and you may encounter situations that are beyond your control, especially in terms of others. Transits to Pluto are often difficult and relate to transformation, and transformative situations that could result in some type of complete change in your life, again, depending on house placement.

As you can see the Grand Cross is complex, and may involve several areas of your life at the same time. What I have written here is only the tip of the iceberg and if you want to understand this complicated transit, my advice is to contact me for a personal reading on this life altering configuration.

In ending, while April and the weeks before and after may not all be easy, in the end many of us will experience significant changes that will ultimately lead to greater growth and put us on the path of true knowing of ourselves and others around us.
